Summary:
Responsible for meeting branding and formatting standards and marketing objectives. Designs and revises catalog pages both for print and electronic media, emails, and creative pieces, including covers, tradeshows, mailers and sell sheets. Develops concepts for space ads, email designs, catalog covers, and formats as required. Creates line art, edits photos, codes articles, and performs prepress functions as needed. Supports E-business and social media initiatives.
This position will work closely with the Manager of Production, Director Multi-Channel Marketing, Marketing Production team, Sr. Marketing Communication Specialist, Marketing Communication Analyst, Marketing Project Manager, Print Production Coordinator, Marketing Managers, and Product Managers to ensure that content is accurate, creative is appropriate, and schedules and marketing objectives are met.
Essential Functions:
Produces catalog pages, sell sheets, product labels, and emails according to established formats and branding standards.
Develops creative designs for covers, tradeshow graphics, or other marketing initiatives while meeting branding standards.
Creates several concepts when required for catalog covers, space ads, or other marketing initiatives.
Follows project instructions and makes required revisions as indicated.
Designs and produces small projects from concept to completion.
Works with team to develop templates, formats and file requirements.
Works with team to develop effective processes.
Creates and edits line art as needed.
Performs duties in outlining images, photography, and image processing as needed.
Processes images for the web and maintains print image database by adding or archiving images as required, and supplies digital images to outside sources for use in promotional materials, press releases and magazine articles.
Builds emails according to established formats and branding standards as assigned.
Codes technical articles as needed.
Supports E-business and social media initiatives.
Delivers print ready PDF files, contract proofs, and printed materials as required for Marketing projects or other departmental support.
Archives for server optimization and maintains updated reference files as required.
Implements pricing process for Marketing projects; creates post production reports as required.
Conducts training as needed in any of the above functions.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements/
Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in graphics arts or sciences from an accredited higher learning institution or a comparable combination of education and work experience
Minimum 5 years experience in 4 color process work, including a minimum of 3 years experience using InDesign, Illustrator, and PhotoShop.
Experience with basic HTML or Dreamweaver a plus.
Knowledge of color separations, 4-color offset web printing, traditional and DTP prepress functions.
Basic digital photography knowledge a plus
Catalog page layout and direct marketing experience a plus
Basic Prepress knowledge a plus.
Basic working knowledge of scientific instrumentation a plus

Must have excellent organization and time management skills to multi-task and complete projects on time, adhere to multiple schedules set for projects, and manage time and priorities so as to consistently meet deadlines for routine assignments
Must be a strong communicator, be able to work independently and be able to work in a team atmosphere.
Must display interpersonal and communication skills necessary for productive participation in a team setting.
Must be a results oriented and accomplish goals.
Must be both detail- and creative-oriented to perform duties in page production, email production, photography, and design.
Must be proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Quark, Illustrator, PhotoShop, DreamWeaver) and Microsoft Office.
Working Conditions:
Office environment / cubicle workstation.
Sits at workstation for extended periods of time and uses a keyboard and mouse to interact with computer system.
Frequently uses phone to converse with business partners.
